1984 GMC Sierra

Behold the 1984 GMC Sierra

It used to be a truck was truck- complete with keys, a heater, and a tailgate. Everything else was an option. This GMC, known in truck fandom as the Square Body, boasted some really nice option- including A/C, power windows and locks, and a Radio. This one is also a diesel. Early GM diesels really had a bad reputation, however this one has the 6.2 that came out a few years later and is pretty bullet proof. It sounds like a school bus at idle- but it also got over 20 MPG and that was the reason it came into existence in the late 70's during the gas crisis. The previous owner did a lot of work to restore this to almost new condition. I did some of the finishing touches. Now it is one of the nicest examples of a square body I've ever seen. I've said this about a couple other cars in my collection- but cars like this are time machines. The transport you by way of visual styling, sounds, smell, the feel of the materials, and all together the visceral experience of being back in 1984, or your childhood, or wherever you associate the car to your past. I suppose you could lick the steering wheel or dashboard if you wanted to taste the 80's.
