This is the 1st car I ever remember wanting. Not exactly this car- but a Rolls Royce. Yes. When I was 7 or 8 years old, my grandfather took me out shopping and let me pick out a toy car. Of course I picked the nicest one I could find, but he bought it for me anyway and told me to take care of it. I never forgot that day- and that very toy car is pictured here, missing the hood ornament that broke off in 3rd grade. In 2020- after years of searching (day dreaming mostly), I finally got a real one. The Silver Spur was the last Rolls made before BMW took over ownership, and it was almost completely built by hand. They really don't build cars like this anymore, unless they are from the $1Million+ club. The Spur was built between 1980 and 1997, with a handful commissioned in 98-00 for "good" customers who did not warm to the later Silver Seraph. This Spur is the last of the regular production Mark IV's- with just a little over 200 built. The doors shut like a bank vault, and you can barely hear the outside world when the doors are shut. It had modern updates- like ABS, airbag, and a turbo engine. Rolls expressed horse power numbers as "adequate" , and offered Driver Instruction School for your chauffeur. It is an experience to drive this car- majestic is not too strong a term, although the best seat is probably in back. Of course, there is a jar of Grey Poupon on board for your riding and dining pleasure, should the need arise.
