2004 Ford Mustang GT

Behold the 2004 Ford Mustang GT

The 90's mustang- well 1994-2004 and referred to as the SN95 among the Mustang faithfull.  It almost wasn't- Ford actually wanted to kill the mustang off in favor of the Probe in 1989. Fortunately the mustang lived on and the Probe went away in 1997. In the 90's however, these were everywhere and were a popular choice for rental car companies (you can tell a former rentals by the strike guards on the doors). They are still pretty common today and nothing really special...to me at least. However, what makes a car collectible and desirable is often because it was something out of reach when it was desirable to you.  This generation Mustang was the car my oldest son identified with as his favorite. With a collection hovering around 40 cars (as of this writing) I will sometimes pick up something that my kids will enjoy driving too. This was a 30k mile car from an owner that babied it- and pretty reliable as far as 20 year old cars go. 2004 was also the 40th anniversary of the Mustang. It will get driven and I don't really expect to ever come out ahead on it- but sometimes that's ok.
