This takes over for my 2009 F150 that is being retired to light duty work. Nothing special- this will be the shuttle between our home and the lake. In addition to moving cars from this collection in a trailer, we also have a travel trailer that required something a bit more powerful to go through the mountains, and this was it. It is about as big as they come- I have less than 2 inches of clearance to close my garage door. With COVID, I had to order this and wait 9 months for delivery. Fortunately I worked with a dealer I have stuck with for years- and they still gave me a great deal at a time when that was hard to come by. I tend to keep vehicles like this for the long haul. As such- all cars break. Buyers tip- when you buy a warranty- the bet is that you will sell or trade your car before you ever use it. If, like me, you keep some cars until the earth reclaims them- the math is on your side. Make sure you only look at an exclusionary warranty- the kind that has a short list of what it does NOT cover and is much like a "bumper to bumper" warranty. Try to buy from the manufacturer, not Auto-Vantage-Super-Excellent-Coverage and the like. Price shop. You can often buy a manufacturer warranty online from dealers that sell at much closer to their cost to earn your business, and see if your dealer can match that or come close. Buy the longest term you can- the odds are really on your side on a 6 or 7 year warranty... unless you trade it in on a shiny new car in 4 years- then you threw your money away. Finally, don't make your decision based on trade in value. Extended warranties typically add ZERO dollars when you trade because the dealer can't transfer them... and they would rather sell their own anyway.

One of the absolute best features on this truck was the step and grab handle that fold out of the tailgate. Since the competition didn't have that... they put out a commercial berating it as a "man step". Of course now they have their own.
