2023 Dodge Charger

Behold the 2023 Dodge Charger Daytona

As with my 2023 Challenger- Stellantis (formerly Fiat, formerly Cerberus, formerly Daimler Benz, formerly Chrysler) made the decision in 2022 that the Charger would be done in 2023 to make room for an electrified replacement. That replacement is now doing so poorly in the market in 2025 they are discontinuing the electric version to bring back a gas version. I still prefer this one because it has real analog gauges and buttons to press to do things. I am so sick of LCD screens taking over the entire dashboard- and I don't think they will age well over time. The European Union is also sick of screens you have to page through to do everything- and they are mandating buttons come back for basic functions. I think that tactile feel that you pushed or turned something gives you instant confirmation you did what you wanted to do and is far less distracting. Anyway- back to the car. Interesting history is that its underpinning- called the Platform, goes back to the 1990's when Mercedes owned Chrysler. Dodge has so many versions of the Charger and Challenger it would take too much space to mention them all here. My goal was to find that happy medium that gave me the look I wanted, a throaty V8, some more horse power and torque than anyone really needs, and also to not go overboard because no one should really own a 1000 hp car. Well I should. Someday.
